Course Description: This course will provide participants with skills and knowledge to assist with protecting themselves from community acquired MRSA.

Target Audience: All Healthcare professionals
Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:
· recognize the risk factors for CA-MRSA (Community Acquired Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus).
· identify the methods of transmission, prevention of transmission for CA-MRSA.
Length of Course: 60 minutes
Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive 1.0 contact hour.
Dieticians: 1.0 hours of CPE for registered dieticians.
Respiratory Care Practitioners: 1.0 clock hours will be awarded by Upstate AHEC, an approved provider of continuing education for respiratory care practitioners by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
Social Work (non-social work hours): This program has been approved by Upstate AHEC, as part of the SC AHEC system, under its accreditition by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners for 1.0 clock hours of non-social work continuing education.
Upstate AHEC Credit: This educational offering provides 1.0 CEUs (1.0 clock hour) by Upstate AHEC and meets SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
