Course Description: This course will provide healthcare professionals with increase knowledge about bloodless medicine and blood management for all individuals in healthcare setting.

Objectives: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

1. Explain the history of transfusion
2. Describe the potential consequences of banked blood transfusions
3. Utilize strategies for minimizing blood transfusion
4. Recall basics of optimal patient blood management

Length of Course: 60 minutes

Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
