Course Description: This course explores the concept of dating violence, the difference between child abuse and dating violence, the effects of dating violence, and resources for healthcare professionals.

Target Audience: Nurses, Social Workers and Counselors and Therapists
Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:
- verbalize the basics of dating violence.
- recognize the warning signs of a violent or unhealthy relationship.
- state how to assist a student in getting help about an unhealthy relationship.
Length of Course: 1 hour
Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive 1.0 contact hours.
Social Workers: This program has been approved by Upstate AHEC, as part of the SC AHEC system, under its accreditation by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners for 1.0 clock hours of non-social work continuing education.
