Course Description: This course will provide participants with an overview of the history of aromatherapy, the methods and accepted safety practices for working with essential oils and the physical and psychological properties of commonly used essential oils.

Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

1. Identify and describe the history of aromatherapy.
2. Define methods and accepted practices for working with essentials oils.
3. Identify and describe physical and psychological properties of commonly used essential oils.

Length of Course: 60 minutes

Credit Statements:

Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive 1.0 contact hour.

Massage Therapists: This program has been approved for 1.0 hours of continuing education by the SC Department of
Labor, Licensing and Regulation for Massage Therapy. SC State Provider Number is 2.

AHEC Credit: This educational offering provides 0.10 CEUs ( 1.0 clock hours) by Upstate AHEC and meets SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
