Course Description: This course will discuss five main elements: policy and commitment, planning, implementation and operations, checking and corrective actions and review. The presenter will raise awareness of how each employee can contribute to workplace health and safety and list resources known to impact the psychological health and safety of employees. Finally how to set specific and measurable goals will be discussed and how to follow-up and assess will be presented.

Target Audience: Licensed professional counselors, social workers, nurses and any other interested healthcare professional
Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss reasons to implement and embed mental health into the culture.
- Discuss workplace dialogue regarding workplace health and safety.
- List resources known to impact the psychological health and safety of employees.
- Assemble the pieces for good practice of psychological health and safety in the workplace.
- Discuss how to develop a workplace plan.
- Discuss how to set specific and measurable goals.
- Discuss the follow-up and assessment.
Length of Course: 120 minutes
Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists: This program has been approved for 2.0 hours of continuing education by SC AHEC under its accreditation by the SC Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists.
Social Work: This program has been approved for 2.0 clock hours of non-social work continuing education by Upstate AHEC, as part of the SC AHEC system, under its accreditation by the SC Board of Social Work Examiners.
Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, attendees will receive 2.0 contact hours.
Others: This program is approved for0.2 CEUs (2.0 clock hours) by Upstate AHEC and meets the SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
