Course Description:  This course describes  ventilator-induced lung injury and the mechanisms of pathological biotrauma.  Evidence-based practices regarding lung-protective ventilation will be discussed and described.

  • discuss pathological mechanisms of biotrauma.
  • state evidence-based practice regarding lung protective ventilation.
  • formulate lung protective ventilation strategies.
