Course Description: This course will discuss the role of the healthcare professional in immunization practice according to the ACIP and CDC immunization recommendations for both adults and children.

Target Audience: Licensed nurses and any other interested healthcare professional and update healthcare professionals on current immunization practices.
Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:
.• Discuss the collective role of health care professionals in immunization practices
• Summarize recent changes to the ACIP and CDC immunization recommendations for both adults and children
• Evaluate patient-specific information to identify vaccine needs or contraindications
• Analyze a patient case, recommend an action plan to address a patient’s immunization needs following current ACIP and CDC recommendations, including appropriate follow-up and monitoring procedures
Length of Course: 75minutes
Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
This continuing education activity is approved for 1.25 contact hour for licensed nurses and 1.25 pharmacology hour.
