Pediatric Anxiety

This course is free.

Course Expiration Date:  2/28/20

Course Description: This program presentation is brought to you through a partnership with SC LEND. Anxiety is the most common pediatric psychiatric disorder with a prevalence estimate of 15-25% during childhood (0-18 years of age) yet it is often unrecognized and when it is diagnosed, providers and parents frequently have difficulty finding mental health providers to care for these children. This lecture will briefly review the types of anxiety commonly seen in Pediatrics, different screening methods for detecting anxiety and the recommended treatment. Because there is often difficulty in obtaining services, we will then review some easy to teach relaxation methods that parents can use at home.
