Course Description: This course provides a brief overview of medication classes by body system and diseases.  It provides a brief description of diseases and lists specific medication classes for treatment and/or management.  The course then lists specific medications, both generic and brand name, side effects and adverse effects.  Finally, interventions for all healthcare providers are outlined for each medication group.

Target Audience: Nurses and other interested healthcare providers

Length of Course:  5.5 hours

Learning Outcomes:  At the end of this presentation the learner will be able to:

  • list medications for specific diseases.
  • list side effects and adverse effects for medications.
  • discuss interventions for medications.

 Licensed Nurses:  Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive 5.5 contact hours.
