Course Description: This course is intended to increase the participant's knowledge of the HIV/AIDS disease process as to better educate patients.
Instructor: Daisy Arrillaga RN, BSN is the Ryan White Program Clinical Supervisor at New Horizon Family Health Services in Greenville, SC.
Target Audience: Nurses, Social Workers, and Counselors and Therapists
Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:
- discuss basic HIV exposure, pathophysiology and transmission.
- differentiate a diagnosis of HIV and AIDS.
- discuss HIV testing.
Length of Course: 60 minutes
Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive 1.0 contact hours.
