Course Description: This course will provide an overview of how to manage challenging behaviors in children with special needs.

Target Audience: Nurses and other interested healthcare professionals

Objectives: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

1. Identify the common medical problems experienced by children Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
2. Describe the evaluation and management of a child with ASD who has sleep problems
3. Describe the evaluation and management of a child with ASD who has gastrointestinal problems including feeding difficulty and constipation
4. Develop a plan to facilitate medical office visits for children with ASD

Length of Course: 1 hour
