Course Description: This course will discuss the pathophysiology, assessment, management and treatment, and important studies related to heart failure.

Identify the pathophysiology and causes of heart failure.
1. Describe the assessment and physical examination for heart failure.
2. Discuss the differential diagnoses and work-up for heart failure.
3. Describe the treatment and medications for heart failure.
4. Discuss important studies in heart failure.
5. Identify latest evidence in the management of heart failure.

Length of Course: 2.0 hours

Credit Statements:

Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This continuing education activity is approved for 2.0 contact hours for licensed nurses. This participant has also earned 0.5 pharmacology hours.

Respiratory Care Practitioners: 2.0 clock hours will be awarded by Upstate AHEC, an approved provider of continuing education for respiratory care practitioners by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.
