Course Description: This course will teach the very basics of looking for lethal rhythms on rhythm strips.

Target Audience: monitor techs and unit secretaries and other interested healthcare providers who do not need an in-depth coverage of arrhythmias

Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

Identify the various wave forms, segments, and intervals on an EKG.
Identify the normal EKG.
Identify normal sinus rhythm, sinus bradycardia, sinus tachycardia, and lethal ventricular arrhythmias.

Length of Course: 60 minutes

Credit Statements:

Respiratory Care Practitioners:1.0 clock hours will be awarded by Upstate AHEC, an approved provider of continuing education for respiratory care practitioners by the SC Board of Medical Examiners.

Other: This educational offering provides 0.1 CEUs (1.0 clock hour) by Upstate AHEC and meets SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.
