Course Description:  This program is designed to help the school nurse properly assess rashes in school-aged children, identify common rashes and develop a proper plan of care for the child with a rash.

Target Audience: Licensed Nurses and other interested healthcare workers

Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Explain how to assess rashes in children.
  • Identify common rashes seen in the school setting.
  • Discuss the treatment options for rashes identified and recognize when a referral is indicated.

 Length of Course: 60 minutes

Licensed Nurses:  Upstate AHEC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive 1.0  contact hours and 0.25 pharmacology hours.
